about

All 13 tracks available on purchase.

January-June 2001:

1. Four Loops - Made up of four effect loops interplaying with each other. Formed the basis of the later track "Orbit of Yuggoth" by The Unnameable (sham018) (this version previously unreleased).

2. Things Fall Apart - Recorded during the same session as "Four Loops"; a similar concept, except with the modulation of the effects loops adjusted throughout the recording. Appeared on the "Underground Australia" cassette compilation (Cypher Productions, 2003).

3. If on a Winter's Night a Traveller - The text is from the Italo Calvino novel fo the same name. One of the last pieces I recorded on tape, and one of the first I remixed digitally (previously unreleased).

4. Outside (short version) - A short version of the Dead C. cover that appeared on the self-titled Undecisive God CDR (sham015, 2001) (previously unreleased).

5. Mildred Pierce - Sonic Youth cover recorded during the same session as "Outside" (previously unreleased).

6. Mote (clean version) - Just a vocal and guitar track that formed the basis of the full version of this Sonic Youth cover later rebased on the "Offering" CDR (sham023, 2003). This version appeared on the limited edition AGIT8/Undecisive God split CD (2003).

7. A Sea of Light, Compassion and Peace - Also from the AGIT8/Undecisive God split CD (2003), made up of about 3 guitars and 1 bass track edited from the ending of "Mote" from the "Offering" CDR (sham023, 2003).

8. Brother James - Sonic Youth cover (previously unreleased).

9. The Whisperer in Darkness - Originally conceived as a track for The Unnameable project, but never got any further than this. The barely-recognisable vocal track is reading text from the H.P. Lovecraft story "The Shadow Out of Time". The music is an extract from "I Am Stalked" (see Archive 4) (previously unreleased).

July-October 2001:

10. Ryle'h Rave - A brief excursion into the Frooty Loops software (previously unreleased).

11. Electron Chattering - Four tracks of effected guitars and bass interplaying with each other (previously unreleased).

12. Live at Small Black Box, Brisbane, 30/09/2001 - Parts of this recording have been released on the split AGIT8/Undecisive God CD (2003) and on the "Sonic Waves" compilation CD (2003). Recorded live by Scott Sinclair.

13. Shaking Hell - Another Sonic Youth cover, the drum track came from some bit of software long forgotten (previously unreleased).
