1. Memory 1 - These three short tracks were slowed down, remixed extracts from the song 'For Beauty, For You' that appeared on the "Purple Silk, Yellowed Clothes cassette (sham009) (see "Archive 3"). This first part is previously unreleased.

2. Memory 2 - Appeared on the "(_the_war_against_sleep_)" cassette (Black Orchid, 2000).

3. Memory 3 - Appeared on the "(_the_war_against_sleep_)" cassette (Black Orchid, 2000).

4. Prodigal A - Using the same source material from "The Breaking of Idols" (see "Archive 3"), but remixed with the chanting mixed in. From the cassette of the same name (sham010).

5. Prodigal B - See above.

6. Piece for Guitar and Bass #1 - Probably the first new recording I did with my new four track. Guitar, bass and a track of me slamming a mic'd amp onto the ground (previously unreleased).

7. I Am Stalked - Made up of guitar, bass, a filing cabinet struck with a golf club and a telephone dial tone.

8. Endgame - Mainly bass with some guitar now and then (previously unreleased).

9. (_the_war_against_sleep_) - "Endgame" severely slowed down and mixed to obtain subterranean bottom end. Title track from the cassette.

10. Pray - A single track of a guitar with whispered vocals into the guitar pick-ups. Appeared on the "Behind Closed Doors" compilation CDR (sham013)

11. Atmospheric Mists of Jupiter - Some feedback loops and knob twiddling, attempting to create an effect better achieved on "The Random Will of Spheres" (previously unreleased).

12. Beginning - Another attempt at something like "Endgame", yet again didn't come out the way I wanted (previously unreleased).

13. Azathoth 1 - A slowed-down, remixed extract from "Beginning" Featured on "(_the_war_against_sleep_)".

14. 2-12-98 (early version) - Clean guitar with an ambient effects track, but I was unhappy with the recording quality at the time (previously unreleased).

15. Guitar in E - One track of bottom-heavy, crunching guitar (previously unreleased).

16. guitars - Several tracks of manic noise guitar (previously unreleased).

17. Guitar in E (short version) - An extract from the original track. Featured on "(_the_war_against_sleep_)".

18. 2-12-98 - This is the version, using the same instrumentation as the earlier one, that featured on "(_the_war_against_sleep_)".

19. Thurston, Kim and Me - An unsuccessful attempt to create a soft, ambient wall of guitar sound (previously unreleased).
