about

All 12 tracks available on purchase.

1. Mirror Alone (Heroin mix) - The end of the original mix given the ol' Undecisive God half-tape speed treatment. This, along with tracks 2 & 3, appeared originally on a split cassette with Punchbag (sham008, 1996).

2. The Breaking of Idols - I stuck a microphone in the motor of a clothes dryer, ran the signal through a few effects pedals, slowed down the tape speed and this was the result.

3. Pussed Out and Kicked Off - Guitar and vocals recorded live to tape. Based on a song I wrote for a band I was in at the time (Kill) called "Pusnut".

4, Mirror Alone - Guitar in a strange tuning I made up, with vocals through some delay. First appeared on the "Purple Silk, Yellowed Clothes" cassette (sham009, 1999), as did tracks 5-8, 11 & 12.

5. Snowblind - Black Sabbath cover with bass, two or three guitars, and two vocal tracks run through various effects.

6. UTI - Layers of noisy, distorted guitars and a vocal track.

7. For Beauty, For You - The samples near the beginning are from "The Rikki Lake Show". There are two or three guitars and bass on the second part of the track. I was really into big, layered guitars at this time.

8. Hallowe'en - Sonic Youth cover, intended to be a sparse instrumental version. Just one guitar with some delay, and a bit of wah pedal to induce a cutting, top-end sound.

9. Sisterly (early version) - The 4 track I had been using to record had died so I was reduced to 1 track recordings on the humble walkman for this & the rest of the tracks on this Archive (previously unreleased).

10. The Wave - The sounds on this track are generated by a number of effects pedals fed back into the amplifier (previously unreleased).

11. Mohican Cross - Long guitar improvisation, using the full board of effects in various combinations.

12. Sisterly - A postscript to "Mohican Cross".
